My version of blackforest cake. My childhood favourite. My heirloom recipe. My many happy memories. Sharing the recipe here in case someone wants to try.

Traditional Black Forest Cake

Bahan-bahan
Egg Yolk Mixture (Beat together):
- 2egg yolks
- 50 gwater
- 50 goil
- 1/2 tspvanilla
- 1 TBsppure cocoa powder
- 50 gOptima flour
- 50 gplain flour
- 1/8 tspsoda.
Meringue
- 2egg whites
- 1/8 tspcream of tartar
- 50 gsugar
Filling (cook until thickened)
- 1can pitted cherry in syrup.
- 3 TBspcornflour
- Some lemon juice and sugar
Topping
- 500 mlcream
- 1 tspvanilla
- 1 TBspicing sugar
Cara
- 01Fold in both mixtures.
- 02Bake in 7 inch round pan.
- 03180°C about 35 min.
- 04Cool completely.
- 05Slice into 3 slices.
- 06Mix all ingredients for filing and cook till thickened.
- 07Stir in 1 tsp brandy.
- Assemble cake
- 08Put cream on first slice.
- 09Put 1/2 of the cherry filling on cream.
- 10Do the same for second slice.
- 11Put only cream on third slice.
- 12Decorate with choc and cherries.
- 13Usually people use those preserved cherries but we prefer fresh ones. It's up to you.
- 14Fridge overnight for flavour to meld.
