Can I Lick the Spoon, Mum?
A Comics-Style Cookbook for Creating Asian Bakes and Family Memories in the Kitchen
By Pamela Lim · Illustrated by Japher Lim and Eliz Ong
Published by WS Education, World Scientific Publishing — August 2024
A cookbook for parents and children to use together. Comics-style, easy to follow, built from 22 base recipes that open into 20 further variations.
From basic butter cookies to mocha, matcha, and peanut — and on to pineapple tarts and other Asian bakes. The recipes a family learns by cooking them together, again and again, until they belong to everyone in the kitchen.
Originally conceived as a project with my son Japher; when his time ran out, Eliz Ong stepped in to complete the illustrations.
Available from major Singapore bookshops, World Scientific, and online.
