With half a kg each of pork filet and plain flour, I can easily make a meal for 6 people. That’s less than $2 per person. It also takes less than an hour. First, make the char siu (叉烧), when the char siu is cooking, make the noodles. Then cook the noodles, make a sauce, and combine!
Char Shao Mian
Ingredients
- 1 portion of Black Char Siu
- 1 portion of ramen noodles
Sauce
- 2 Tbsp Black Soya Sauce
- 2 tsp Soya Sauce
- 2 tsp black vinegar
- 1 cube bullion
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 2 tsp sesame oil
Topping (all optional)
- Scallions
- Chopped chillies
- Lau gan ma
- Fried onions
- Wontons
Instructions
- Make the noodles, then the char siu.
- Mix all the ingredients for the sauce, and divide them into 6 bowls.
- Divide the noodles into six portions and put them into the bowls with the sauce. Stir through.
- Top the noodles with the chosen of toppings.
